Fallout new Vegas

hello guys.as i promised i would play fallout new vegas and would go in depth about its good and bad sides.
As you battle your way across the heat-blasted Mojave Wasteland, the colossal Hoover Dam, and the neon drenched Vegas Strip, you’ll be introduced to a colorful cast of characters, power-hungry factions, special weapons, mutated creatures and much more.
The ease of management of your quests and inventory are back, your trusty pip boy returns to guide you on your way.  In fact, it's all pretty much the same as Fallout 3.  So what's not to love?  As someone who did enjoy Fallout 3 very much, it was nice to see some improvements made on the core elements of the game.  Crafting for one, a system where medicine or weapons can be created adds a little bit of depth to the gameplay.  The V.A.T.S. combat system also returns and continues to deliver the brutal satisfaction that it did in Fallout 3.The general freedom that the game delivers in allowing players to roam the wasteland looking for sidequests, or just allowing you to march straight through the campaign is something to be expected.  There's no shortage of things to do, people to talk to, and ways to go about your time in Fallout New Vegas.  And there's something magical about the sun going down in the wasteland as you continue on your quest, whatever you choose that to be.

                                                                THE GOOD STUFF

FOnV introduces the "Hardcore Mode" .  Which forces you to choose whether you would like to have the added realism of the harsh life of a wasteland adventurer.  In this mode Stimpacks heal over time and cannot mend broken limbs, Rad-Away removes radiation over time, ammunition has weight, and dehydration is a constant concern.  This added challenge makes the game a bit more fun, and a bit more frustrating in one neat little package.  A little added enticement to try your luck in New Vegas on hardcore is a "special reward" which you will unlock once completed.
also the game introduces faction reputation which is really important as the game progresses.this was as we saw in the first fallout titles.there are also changes in the equipment department.there are many types of ammo for example for a 9mm pistol there are 3 types of ammo.normal ammo.hollow point ammo which deals less damage to armored opponents and more to unarmored .the exact opposite happens with armor piercing rounds.also there is ammunition of low quality that makes your weapon go bad really fast.
the graphics have remained more or less the same.the characters have been improved a little but the females are still ugly as hell.the map and the campaign is really interesting because every action you take is really affecting the game somehow.also the dialogues i think are more interesting and the characters have more depth

                                                              THE BAD STUFF

now fallout new vegas seems to me really as an expansion pack to the previous title.sure some stuff has changed but other than that its just like fallout 3.How could I hope to evaluate the worth of FONV, a full-price game that's practically identical, both graphically and mechanically, to another game that was released two years ago? How could I tell you whether or not it's an insult that you're being asked to pay $60 for a game that's so technically deficient that it scarcely feels past the beta stage?there are bugs everywhere.come on we are in 2011 and there are still bugs in games?what couldnt they wait 1 or 2 weeks to beta test the game before releasing it?blizzard spent almost a year testing starcraft 2.also what i didnt like is the interface.there are hundreds of items in the inventory and if oyu want to find something you have to scroll through tens of pages.also the letters in the dialogues are huge!!only three lines its like its for handicapped people.

For me, Fallout is about a series of adventures rather than a singular quest, so I wasn't terribly bothered. But I do wish options had been laid out just a bit better.

so thats it for a non retro review for FONV hope you liked it.so keep tuned for more.i have a little surprise on my next post so dont miss it

  4. Love the game. Bugs are expected with the client they used to make the games. Only good thing with that is they are good about updating the game and fixing it.

Don't use normal guns or you will have a mile list of ammo and shells lol

  5. I didn't buy L4D2 even though I loved L4D. They were so similar you'd expect they would have given it out for free or even to a low price.
I've only heard positive things about FONV so I'll try it.

  13. i reviewed this game too, and we had basically the EXACT same opinions. it just isnt worth the 60 bucks because it should be a 15 dollar expansion.

  16. Good review. The Fallout engine for the last two games has been really janky. And as expected, New Vegas was just kind of a reskinned Fallout 3 =/ Thanks for the info!

  24. Yeah, that's what I heard, that its more like an expansion, since its using the same engine and all. It was hyped up so much that it looks a bit disappointing to me.
